The story behind the shooting:

Malaysian fashion designer, Oscar Lee, has unveiled a new collection inspired by the global issue of police brutality. The collection showcases the designer's signature modern edge and features dark, bold colors along with sharp cuts and unique textures.

The collection is intended to evoke the sense of injustice and anger felt by those who have experienced or witnessed police brutality. The stark and edgy designs are aimed towards those who value standing up for social and political issues.

According to the designer, this collection is his response to the ongoing issue of police brutality across the globe. He hopes that his bold and dark creations will spark conversations about issues of social justice and create a sense of unity among individuals.

Overall, Oscar's latest collection is a powerful display of fashion as a form of art and activism. Through his designs, he is shining a light on a critical issue, and inspiring others to take a stand for justice.

Oscar Lee:

So why police brutality? Instead of talking about politics, I want to focus on how it affects the younger generations. We “younger generations” shouldn’t go through all this politics and have our parents killed. What’s worst is police have been raping girls and taking away our humanities. Therefore in this collection, I want to show how brutal police can be.

In my concept, it’s mainly about Hong Kong as my dad has a history there when my family was having financial issues and it gives me a nostalgic feel.

“We have a lot of people that are oppressed. We have a lot of people that aren't treated equally, aren't given equal opportunities. Police brutality is a huge thing that needs to be addressed. There are a lot of issues that need to be talked about, need to be brought to life, and we need to fix those”. - Colin Kaepernick
